Continued Public Hearing for New Earth Removal Applications at 59 Federal Road and 0 Mayflower Road. The Makepeace Company is applying to cut down 24 acres of forest and mine another 1.7 million cubic yards of sand at 59 Federal Road, near drinking water wells and an environmental justice community; read about the proposal on our blog. Fruit D’Or is also applying to mine 640,000 cubic yards of sand from our aquifer and cut down 10.5 acres of forest; find the application materials and more information on our blog. Take Action: Attend the ERC meeting and speak about the effects of sand mining on the community; if you cannot attend, email the ERC with your comments.
