Proposed Commercial Development on Historic Landscape: Atlantic Design Engineers is proposing to construct a mixed-use commercial development at 829 Scenic Highway, Bourne. However, this location is connected to a historic burying ground called “Burying Hill,” an extremely culturally significant site for the Herring Pond Wampanoag. Read more here. The State found that not all of the wetlands were mapped properly; ultimately this site should be preserved. Take Action: Attend the NOI hearing to show support for the preservation of the cultural and natural resources on this site.
