Plymouth: ZBA, Conservation Commission challenged for approving 348-unit apartment complex on 16 acres in Colony Place
The Plymouth Selectboard made a deal with Claremont Developers behind closed doors in late 2022. In exchange for a special permit from the Zoning Board of Appeals Claremont will gift up to $3 million to the town for a water booster pump. This is a short term, 5-year solution to the town's water crisis, according to the Town Manager. Selectman Bletzer lobbied the ZBA for the permit, publicly. Claremont is deep in a web of questionable dealings. In addition, a lawsuit has been filed challenging the ZBA permit issued as part of the deal.

Carver: Cranberry Point: Siting Board Proceedings
In Massachusetts, siting board hearings concluded on 10/31/22 on PowerPlus Cranberry Point BESS storage system. The 150 MW project will be located in a residential neighborhood abutting cranberry bogs and over a sole source drinking water aquifer. Experts testified that CP's application was incomplete and did not have adequate protections for safety and prevention of air toxics in the event of a thermal runaway that will release toxic hydrofloruide gasses.
