Update: March, 2026: Two bills are pending in the Massachusetts Legislature
House Bill 918 “An Act protecting drinking water and public health from sand mining pollution”, filed by State Rep. Connolly. To see the Bill Click here . This bill was voted “Favorably” by the joint Environment and Natural Resources Committee!
House Bill 948 “An Act to protect the public health, safety and welfare including but not limited to the drinking water supply in Plymouth Carver Sole Source Aquifer, designated under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 1990” filed by State Rep. On June 3, 2025 the Massachusetts Legislature’s Joint Committee on Environment and Natural Resources (ENRA) held its hearing on the bills. The room was packed with supporters and about people testified in support. . See the hearing here
