Wareham Planning Board – Discussion and Possible Vote on 370 County Road Solar
September 23 @ 6:00 pm
Monday, September 23, 6:00 pm, In person and on Zoom. Link to Agenda
The 370 County Road Solar project is a proposal to cut down 10 acres of Pine Barrens forest in the watershed of Cohackett Brook, in a biodiversity hot spot in Wareham. Solar belongs in our parking lots and on our rooftops, not in our forests! There are now new rules for submitting public comment in Wareham. The Planning Board will only consider comments submitted using a “Finding of Fact” outline. The public hearing for this site is closed, but the Planning Board will be reviewing the public’s submissions for the very first time, and possibly voting.
How to take action:
- Attend the Planning Board Meeting Monday night to learn more about the new public comment process
- Contact Community Land and Water Coalition to learn how to amplify the public’s voice in matters of development
- Join Community Land and Water Coalition to become a part of our state-wide campaign to get solar out of our forests!
